For almost 20 years, PSU has conducted background checks on companies across China, from suppliers and distributors to acquisition and partnership targets. Our work often uncovers what surface-level information doesn’t reveal:

- Undisclosed ownership ties or hidden shareholders
- Links to sanctioned individuals or entities
- Labour, safety,or environmental violations
- Past legal disputes
- Shell companies posing as legitimate partners
In roughly 30% of our corporate checks, we’ve found ownership or control structures that differed from official records, often showing hidden investors or connected parties. Each case reminds us that risk in China is rarely obvious on paper. Thorough due diligence, combining document verification, open-source research, and on-the-ground checks, remains one of the best tools foreign firms have to protect their investments.
